journey 4

My name is Sasha and I am attending an art school(dance major).I am 12 year My older sister is a junior attending an art school, also a dance major. She’s one of the most amazing dancers I know. Ever since I was young I’d watch her dance in her school performances and different dance competitions and I would see her excel in everything she did and that really inspired me to be just like her and if not better. She even attended Joffrey summer program last year; therefore I want to follow in her footsteps. I’m still learning and trying new things and I couldn’t think of any better way to improve on myself than attending the Joffery School of Ballet for the summer. Without a doubt I am a hard worker. I love getting corrections from well trained teachers because it’s only making me better. I’ve just recently started competition dancing just this year and it’s really helped me with my presence on stage and showing personality in my dancing. I have already accepted the fact I can never be the typical prima ballerina because I was not born with natural flexibility or the ballet body but its okay. It’s okay with me because I am willing to work with what I have. I want this. I want it bad. One day, I can maybe receive a letter in the mail from Dance Media. One day, my life could change some more and I can get the experience I need to improve. One day I will be waiting anxiously next to my mail box for the mail man to give me good news. I can only hope that day will happen. By: Sasha Sagel, age
