A Day in the Life of Emily Whittome
Meet Emily Whittome! In the first of five mini-documentary day-in-the-life films published exclusively on DanceMedia, you’ll see what it takes to be among the best. A charming dancer, Emily moved to NYC at age 18 to follow her dream of training to become a professional dancer. This fall she been selected to receive a full merit scholarship as she completes her forth year in Joffrey Ballet School’s accredited trainee program. Footage in this video was taken during the 2013 summer intensive program, of which Emily attended all seven weeks and had the opportunity to take special workshops from Desmond Richardson and Dwight Rhoden of Complexions Dance Company as well as a master class from Misty Copeland, principal dancer with American Ballet Theater and more.
