As a high school student heading out into the college dance world I was met with a new challenge, an audition solo. I needed something short and sweet and completely descriptive of my personal dance aesthetics and talents. I wanted a piece that would exude confidence, performance, but also hold an underlining tone of poise. When searching for music I came across old videos of Marlene Dietrich and Peggy Lee and was immediately inspired by their demeanor on stage. From there I found Louis Armstrong's rendition of Edith Piaf's La Vie en Rose and created this solo.
