“Absent” addresses the isolation we as mankind experience on a daily basis. We sit in our tiny rooms broadening our two-dimensional horizons and click-click-clicking our computers. The web has enabled humanity to virtually connect with one another, while simultaneously isolating ourselves. Pablo Neruda’s poem “I Like For You to Be Still” speaks of the joy of two people connecting, which is antagonized by the dancer performing for his shadow.
