Dance animation by Alexander Shiriaev
Excerpt from the early 20th-century animations of Alexander Shiriaev, taken from the 2003 documentary "A Belated Premiere." An assistant to Marius Petipa, Shiriaev was experimenting with movement-on-camera even before the official birth of Russian cinematograhpy. The work seen here dates to between 1906 and 1908.
