#5 Arms!

This was a lovely snow scene. I dance in snow scene every year in my schools Nutcracker and I thought this choreography was beautiful. However I noticed multiple times that girls arms were much to straight or too bent. Stretch those arms! Other that that I thought it was lovely. And the costumes were amazing!!

#1 Film is Humbling

There are some very graceful girls dancing here. This footage shows how one can feel he or she is really pointing the foot only to watch the recording and realize that much of the choreography reveals flat footed landings and jumps. Ballet is a process of putting oneself nearer to perfection with each exercise. It's about becoming more and more aware of the body and getting it to articulate moves perfectly until the body does it automatically. Yet perfection does not exist. We try anyway.
