The Break Up

"The Break Up," choreographed by Erin Pasko, follows the simple story of 9 girls becoming unhappy with and leaving a relationship. The storyline that the piece follows, as plain and classic as it is, is not the most important intention. This piece represents why we started dancing and why we will always dance...to express ourselves. Whether it be through the ever popular contemporary style or the less popular hip hop genre (as seen in this piece), dance will always be an unparalleled form of expression and communication. "The Break Up" is simply a tribute to a new and perhaps overlooked genre of dance we know as hip hop and to dance itself.
