The Crucible is a non-profit arts education facility that produces stunning fundraising Fire Ballets featuring classical dancers, fire performers, hip-hop and aerial artists. Included in this promotional video for their third ballet are scenes from Romeo & Juliet and Stravinsky's Firebird. Dracul is a prequel to the vampire legend, danced to the music of Phillip Feeney's dynamic score to Dracula. Choreography by Viktor Kabanaiev of the Diablo Ballet, with performances by Tina Kay Bohnstedt (Diablo Ballet), Ethan White (Smuin Ballet), aerialists Brett Womack and Alyssa Marx, and a host of other dancers and performers that push the envelope to present a serious ballet with bite! Runs in Oakland, CA January 7-10 and 14-17, 2009.
