I took pieces of Putin's speech to the UN and created the score that my…produced! This might seem like just a political statement but my intent was to show the many faces of the human experience while all the"history"is being made. Dialectical Materialism is a concept that brings a great contrast to my intended images I'm trying to convey. This footage us from my computer to my phone to you so unfortunately it is poor quality (i ran out of options and time). Also, two of my dancers have never danced before. "Concerto Nuovo" (Excerpts) Choreographed by Jeremy McQueen. "Concerto Nuovo" (2009) is inspired by George Balanchine's…Barocco" (1941). Jeremy McQueen, 2013 recipient of the Joffrey Ballet’s Choreographers of Color Award, has appeared in the Broadway National Tours of Wicked and The Color Purple in addition to the New York City & National Touring companies of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. A 2008 graduate of The Ailey School/Fordham University, B.F.A. in Dance program, McQueen is a 2012 finalist of the Capezio Award for Choreographic Excellence McQueen has created choreographic works for The Ailey School, Joffrey Academy of Dance, Stephens College, the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts, and the upcoming Fire Island Dance Festival. McQueen’s company, affectionately known as “Team McQueen”, has appeared in Dancers Responding to AIDS’ annual Dance From The Heart concert, the Young Choreographer’s Festival & Jacob’s Pillow Dance’s Inside/Out series in 2012, among other performance. As a passionate educator, McQueen gives back to the arts community by teaching aspiring young professionals around the country. Mr. McQueen is currently on faculty with the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation and the Broadway Dance Center in New York City.Read More
