Sexual Exploration May 27, 2014 | genelonardo | More on General
While growing up I had a ton of questions about myself, my lifestyle, and how…live it. Sometimes I couldn't find the answers easily and had to find them my own way. At times this was good, and at times this was bad, but I was always learning. Because of this part of me feels taken advantage of, but the other part of me feels like I was the one taking advantage. This piece is an artistic expression of what I learned about myself sexually and as a gay man, how I've overcome my obstacles, and the man those obstacles have created. I hope you enjoy my work, but even more, I hope it sparks something inside. Thank you -Gene LonardoRead More
American Girl May 27, 2014 | AshOeffinger | More on General
This piece explores how women and girls are portrayed in American media and what effect…has on females. I was inspired by the documentary Miss Representation. With statistics such as "girls between the ages of 11 and 14 see, on average, 500 advertisements per day" and "80% of of 10-year-old American girls say that have been on a diet" I felt compelled to shed light on this topic through movement and dance in hopes to inspire a brighter future for our next generation of American girls.Read More

Cassie Nordgren - Musical Theater May 27, 2014 | cnordgren | More on General
I like to take classic musical theater songs out of context and apply new and…revised concepts to them. The first piece is a competition piece I did about hotel maids dreaming of a better job: a better life. The second piece is a story piece about three girls who wake up from a night out and forget that they brought home three friends they met along the way. (I made the beds from gymnastic mats in the back of my mom's dance studio.) Both are very true to my point of view and I hope you enjoy. www.cassienordgren.comRead More
