A story about schizophrenia told through Contemporary-Ballet, with a dark undertone surrounding the idea of…voices within some patients. Treatment is usually lifelong and often involves a combination of medications and social therapy. Choreographed by April Henehan featuring Montserrat Roberts & Amanda Serrano as Soloists supported by Addie Higgins, Hope Jones, Ben Peralta., Haralin Rose, Ryan Williamson. This piece will examine the growing epidemic, that plagues the land of the free, contributing…the decline of what the nation has for been trying to fix for years. It seems that the wrongful deaths of unarmed African-American men and women caused by the police is at an all-time high. What people haven't considered is that these tragic, and unnecessary events are a prime example of the hackneyed expression: "history repeats itself." The first public announcement of a black male being wrongfully murdered is none other than Emmett Till. The piece will explore the African-American male and female and their encounters with law enforcement and will hopefully cause the viewer to think and continue to hope for that day when "a change gonna come."
